Bucket List

Skydive, whale watching in Hawaii, swim w dolphins, go on an Alaskan cruise, live where sand is right outside my front door and I can smell the ocean breeze, attend the NAACP & The Soul Train Music Awards. Probably should put that skydiving as last on the list, u know, just in case ;)

"Ever wondered who would be there for you in your darkest hour? What if you fell off and succumbed to some type of addiction? What if you wanted desperately to be whole again but just couldn’t quite shake whatever it was that plagued you? I know many of you will say God and I get that. But sometimes you need something tangible. Something you can feel. Someone. Do you know who you can truly count on…? To come to your side in your darkest hour of need? Are you sure they will be there? Or will you and everything you’ve worked for and accomplished be cast aside because now you’re “just another addict”…to whatever it may be. Or wait, are there varying degrees? Do you look further down your nose based on the object of addiction? I’m asking bc I have been amazed, flabbergasted, disappointed and saddened by some of the things I’ve seen, heard & read since Whitney passed away. Floored in some cases. Disheartened. For the life of me, I cannot understand our desire to be so cruel and judgemental when someone stumbles or completely falls from grace. Extend a hand. Help a man. Treat others as you wish to be treated. Thank you Mom & Dad for being who you are, living how you live and teaching us how to BE. It is not quantifiable the amount of gratitude that we owe to you both."

Edward Hernandez Jr Bridget, mom has shown me these comments that you and the others have been sending back and forth - I have to tell you I could not be more proud of you…..if your mom and I had anything to do with it, then that’s fine, but the basic reality is - THIS is the person that you are, your comments and compassion for a person who for whatever reasons, may have made some bad choices, is what it is all about. If someone has made no mistakes in their lives then kudo’s to them, some of us are not quite so perfect - in my life, I have so many memories of times I made a decision, thinking at that time it was the best and correct decision…….If we are lucky enough to grow older, and are honest with ourselves, we learn that you do the best you can and hope you are right, but sometimes you may never know the true outcome of your choices…..I love you and am so proud of you for the person you are showing yourself to be……CLASS is something you can take classes for and be trained as to what is the appropriate thing to do - but when you do and say the right things, even in the face of different opinions, then that is the true definition of CLASS - doing the class thing even when it isn’t the popular choice shows that those thoughts and actions are coming from your heart and soul and are real, not just the easy thing to do. You my dear are a CLASS ACT, and I am so unbelievably proud to be your Dad, Love You……………..
